What levels of care do you offer?We offer Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care.

What styles of apartments do you offer?We have a variety of studio, 1 Bedroom, and two-bedroom apartment homes. For more information on our floor plans, please navigate to our "Floor Plans" page.

Do I have to move rooms when the time comes for Assisted Living?There is no need to move between Independent and Assisted Living. We add those Assisted Living cares right into your rent.

How are the assisted living services decided?Upon move-in, our nurse will assess your current health and review your medical history to see how we can best meet your needs. They will also discuss your preferences as well as your normal routines to develop a care plan that’s tailor made for you.

How often are assessments done?Before moving in, 30 days after moving in, then every 90 days, or if there is a significant change to the resident.

How are nursing levels determined?At Boyson Heights we offer a point system. You pay for the assisted living and nursing services that are needed. We have 5 different levels. Each service has points allotted to the care needed. Once the assessment is done and needs are determined, there is a care level that correlates to what level is needed.

Do you offer transportation?Yes, we have transportation to medical appointments. As well as driving to different outings like stores, scenic drives and lunch outings.

Do you offer activities?Yes, we have a robust activity calendar that offers many different activities for many different needs. Such as crafts, music, entertainment, cards, social hour, manicures, shopping trips, outings, exercise, brunch, happy hour, church services, bible study, games, cooking demonstrations and themed activities.

Are your residents’ family members involved?They are very involved. We encourage families to come in for visits, activities, meals and we have different family events we offer throughout the year. We have annual family events for our residents’ families to enjoy with their loved ones.

What is your visiting policy?Families can visit their loved ones whenever they would like. This is their home, and families are welcome to come by whenever!

They encourage family members to be actively engaged in their loved one's care plan, ensuring they are kept informed and have opportunities to participate in decision-making regarding their care and well-being.

How many floor plans are there?We have 6 different options of 1 bedroom ranging from 524 square feet to 715 square feet. a. We have 8 different options of 2 bedrooms ranging from 720 square feet to 972 square feet.

What is included in my rent for independent living?3 meals per day, 24/7 staff, wifi, cable, electric, heat, water, garbage, every other week light housekeeping and linen service, transportation to medical services within, Hiawatha, Marion and Cedar Rapids. An emergency pendant.

How do I receive more information?The first step is to arrange a visit to Boyson Heights Senior Living. During your visit, we’ll talk to you about your personal circumstances and how we can meet your individual needs. To set up a tour, simply call us at 319-775-4524.

Can we move in as a couple for Independent or Assisted Living?Yes! Couples can move in, and they each get their own care plan designed for them. They can be in their apartment with their own belongings and live together.

Can I bring my own furniture?Yes, each apartment comes unfurnished for you to bring your own furniture. We encourage you to decorate and bring your belongings for the apartment to feel as comfortable as possible.

Do you offer respite stays?Yes, we offer respite stays in independent and assisted living as well as in the memory care.

Can I bring my cat or dog with me?Yes, you are welcome to bring your own pet with you! If you are comfortable caring for your pet, we would love for them to join our Boyson Heights Senior Living family.

Is there a long-term lease for the apartment?No. Our community does not require long-term lease commitment. We also require 30 days’ written notice prior to moving out of the community.
